Description

This article helps to fix issue related to Subscription upload failure in SD-Cloud

Symptoms

Unable to add subscription to SD cloud due to error:

Reason: ActivatedQty has to be greater than zero for ={} Add subscription failed.

Reason: Entitlement is at invalid state and can not be activated

Solution

SD cloud integrates with JAL (Juniper Agile Licensing) to activate licenses.

When you add a license to Security Director Cloud, Security Director Cloud checks to see if the license is already activated.

If license is activated you will see an error like:

Reason: ActivatedQty has to be greater than zero for ={} Add subscription failed.

New licenses you have received may have automatically been activated.
If you have encountered a license activation failure, please revoke the license and try again.
This workaround should not be required in a future SD-Cloud release.  (new release dated after April 2024)

Workaround:

1. Login to JAL  (Juniper Agile Licensing) https://license.juniper.net/licensemanage/   (As Subscription or license owner account)

2. Locate the license/subscription you are trying to activate, and use the "Revoke" button.

  • IMPORTANT: Do NOT activate the license in JAL  (Juniper Agile Licensing)
  • If you are not able to locate your license to review, create an administrative case to have the Juniper Customer Care team assist you with license access or revoke.

3. Attempt to activate the subscription in Security Director Cloud.

After confirming the subscription is in a Revoke state on JAL  (Juniper Agile Licensing), if activation continues to fail, open a technical support case for assistance.
