Single occurrence of the log message -

Feb 6 05:30:54.051 2024 Router1-RE0 fpc3 XMCHIP(2): XMCHIP(2): MALLOC: SChunk allocation memory parity error - Address 0x2c7 

No active errors seen on FPC.

The "SChunk allocation memory parity error" message reports a transient hardware error.

This is single occurrence of syslog and not seen with other events. It indicates a one time hardware error. 

If multiple continuous occurrences are seen then alarm will be raised.


The multiple continuous occurrences of errors require FPC restart during maintenance window to clear the alarms.
