Description

On QFX5K,EX4300-MP,EX4400 or EX4100 series switch with VXLAN, traffic to ipv6 link local address in routing instance would be failed.

 

Symptoms


Traffic to ipv6 link local address in routing instance would be failed while it is working fine with ipv6 link local address in default-instance.
The issue could be seen when the following conditions are met;
  • Using vxlan config
  • Target ipv6 link local address is in routing instance apart from default instance.
  • Using ipv6 link local address on IRB interface.
  • There is a default route to different peer in the same routing instance.

Solution

This is a software bug which has been fixed through PR1775394 below.
