This article will describe a possible error message that the customer could face when installing a license on the device.

The switch could print this error message during the license installation process:

error: license########: incorrect checksum, invalid license data
error: License validation failed. License addition failed due to invalid license
add license failed (1 errors)

1) This error message suggests that the license may have been entered incorrectly or is incomplete. It is advisable for the customer to copy the license from its original source, paste it into a Notepad or Word document, verify the accuracy of each character, and then paste it onto the device. 

2) If the issue persists, it is highly recommended to contact Customer Care team to revoke and reactivate the license. There have been reports indicating that this action has successfully resolved the same error.
