Description

DOT1X clients reported connectivity loss during mastership failovers on EX switches in virtual-chassis environment.

 

Symptoms

Packet loss during mastership failovers.

Solution

EX switches do not support DOT1X in NSB/NSR (GRES) mode. When an RE failover occurs, the DOT1X clients have to reauthenticate, which may cause packet losses.

This is an expected behaviour.
