Description

Customer is preparing firewall rules to deploy JSI, and they need to define traffic flows.  On Captive Portal versions below 1.43, on External Network, there are two IP addresses required:

IP Address (VM)
IP Address (LWC)

Which IP address is used as the source IP when querying DNS servers via external network?

Solution

When LWC connects to the cloud, both external IP addresses use the same DNS defined for the external interface.  Additionally, a DNS server is needed to be filled in on the Internal Network (even if the DNS server is on the external side).
