Description

When executing command from command line interface CLI :

 

>show interfaces terse

 

interfaces will not show right away in the output , only once the transceiver is connected those will appear and show properly listed.

Symptoms

for example

 

et-0/0/0 is disconnected and SFP is not connected yet output shows as next ,

when connecting  a 10g port SFP in port 0 of physical interface card 0 for fpc0 and port will show in interfaces terse

Solution

Please make sure QSFP or SFP is connected and transceiver shows in chassis hardware output (show chassis hardware )

 

Once this shows present , it should also appear in (show interfaces terse )

 

This is normal and expected behavior.
