This article explains the supported method for downgrading an NFX250 device from Porter 3 to Porter 2.

Solution

Downgrading from Porter 3 to Porter 2 involves architectural changes that cannot be handled through standard in-service upgrade or downgrade procedures.

As a result:

  • Conventional upgrade/downgrade commands are not supported
  • A full reinstallation of the image is required

The only supported method to downgrade to Porter 2 is via a USB installation using the .img image file available on the official download page.

This process is identical to performing a fresh installation using USB media.
