Description

This article explain the behaviour of the chassis JNP10008 which a universal chassis and can be used as QFX10008 as well as PTX10008 depending on the RE that customer uses.

Symptoms

If by mistake customer insert the QFX RE in the chassis with the personality of PTX10008 the RE is accepted however you receive the below alarm.

Solution

You would see the below alarm on the chassis.

Upon checking the show chassis hardware you would see that different RE's are inserted in the slots.

Since the chassis is same and only RE makes the difference and decides on the personality of the box you would see the alarm when there is a MIX of both RE's on the box.

 

Replace the RE1 with the correct RE type and the alarm should go away.
