Description

MPC10E card on a MX-VC supports only as uplink usage, we cannot create a VCP port using MPC10E ports.

Symptoms

When we use MPC10E card on a MX-VC setup and when we try creating a VCP port, the VC-port will not be created, you may see the below error messages:

Solution

It is a hardware limitation that MPC10E cannot be used as VCP port, on a MX-VC setup. However, we may use MPC10E-10C-MRATE and MPC10E-15C-MRATE line cards on a MX router (MX240, MX480, and MX960) and use them for uplink usage.
