After upgrade MX chassis equipped with non flex-license capable FPCs on JunOS to release 22.1 or higher 'show system license' output will show many licenses as invalid.
Flex licenses are displayed as invalid:
user@device> show system license License usage: Licensed Licensed Licensed Feature Feature Feature Feature name used installed needed Expiry vpls 1 0 1 invalid l3vpn 1 0 1 invalid ldp 1 0 1 invalid l2circuit 1 0 1 invalid l3static 1 0 1 invalid l3vpn-instance-capacity 2516 0 2516 invalid sr 1 0 1 invalid pim 1 0 1 invalid qos-license 1 0 1 invalid bgp-pic 1 0 1 invalid
This chassis has only non flex-license capable FPCs:
user@device> show chassis hardware | match FPC FPC 0 REV 24 750-063183 XXXXXXXX MPC2E NG HQoS FPC 1 REV 30 750-063184 XXXXXXXX MPC2E NG PQ & Flex Q FPC 2 REV 12 750-063736 XXXXXXXX MPCE Type 3 3D
System doesn't report any alarms:
user@device> show system alarms No alarms currently active
In such case invalid state means that license is not required. Requirement of license is tracked via alarms. Please verify in the output of "show system alarms". If no such alarm reported, flex license 'invalid' state can be ignored.
