Description

In Q-in-Q scenario where EX/QFX acts a pure L2 switch and "input-vlan-map push" is configured , adjacencies related to some protocols (i.e OSPF,ISIS,LDP,PIM and RIPv2) between peers across EX/QFX may be failed.

This issue impacts specific EX/QFX platforms (EX4100, EX4400, QFX5120-32C, QFX5120-48Y, QFX5120-48T and QFX5120-48YM)

Symptoms

protocols adjacencies for peers through EX/QFX will not completed in Q-in-Q senario using the below topology and configuration

Traffic received from peer_1 on the switch with dual vlan-tags should be sent to peer_2 with three vlan-tags. due to this issue traffic sent with two vlan-tags only on egress interface of the switch hence protocols adjacencies will be broken . impacted protocols like ISIS,OSPF,LDP,PIM and RIPv2

peer_1---------(ingress-interface)EX/QFX (egress-interface)--------peer_2

------------> impacted traffic in this direction

set interfaces <ingress-interface> unit <*> input-vlan-map push <<< expect three vlan-tags on egress-interface

Solution

customer needs to upgrade to one of the Junos that has the fix of PR1761220
