Description

This article describes why a control session between TWAMP server on a device running JUNOS and TWAMP client may fail to get established.

Symptoms

TWAMP server control session fails to be established if Viavi QT600 is used as a TWAMP client. The TWAMP server greeting from a device running JUNOS is split across two TCP segments.

Solution

Due to a software defect tracked as PR1761242, TWAMP server greeting sent by JUNOS may be segmented in two packets instead of one. If TWAMP client requires TWAMP server greeting to be present in a single packet, TWAMP control session will fail. Example of such client is Viavi QT600.
