On Juniper Networks EX4400 devices, a software bug related to the PoE controller is causing this issue where random PoE is not working properly and getting reset. This is resulting in the generation of multiple PoE error messages and issues like no power to the powered devices, and displaying wrong information about power consumption. CLI command 'show poe controller' can be used to check the configuration and status of the PoE controllers.
When experiencing this issue on EX4400 platforms, PoE (Power over Ethernet) functionality will be affected randomly.
The following logs will be observed when this issue is experienced:
POE_ARG3_ERR: poe_msemi_bt_l2_set_interface: failed to set layer2 power for 17 165 PoE: PoE read response failed
