Description

The chassis Cluster in the Primary/Disabled state, needs to know the Root cause.

Symptoms

  • SRX goes to disable mode in the HA chassis cluster.
  • CHASSIS CLUSTER GOES INTO DISABLE DUE TO FPC0 OFFLINE.

Solution

++ status of Node1 is disable:

> show chassis cluster status

Node   Priority Status               Preempt Manual   Monitor-failures

Redundancy group: 0 , Failover count: 4
node0  100      primary              no      no       None
node1  1        disabled             no      no       None

Redundancy group: 1 , Failover count: 6
node0  100      primary              no      no       None
node1  0        disabled             no      no       IF

++FPC status is offline:

> show chassis fpc detail no-forwarding

Slot 0 information:
  State                               Offline
  Reason                              Chassis cluster disable
  Total CPU DRAM                 2048 MB
  Total SRAM                        0 MB

From chassisd and jsrpd the chassis cluster goes into disable due to FPC0 offline:

As the FPC is offline, we need to try reseating the card (only applicable to high-end devices) and rebooting the node. After rebooting, both FPCs should come online if it is a transient hardware failure, and the chassis cluster becomes a healthy primary/secondary.
