Description

The article shows two knobs that needs to be enabled for traffic flow in case for Edge Routed Bridge overlay type 5 EVPN scenario.

Symptoms

When QFX5110/QFX5120 is configured as Leaf device in the ERB scenario, traffic can get dropped. Type 5 tunnel would be created but traffic through the tunnel will be dropped at the ingress.

Solution

Below are the knobs that needs to be enabled to ensure proper traffic flow.

 

set routing-options forwarding-table chained-composite-next-hop ingress evpn

set forwarding-options vxlan-routing overlay-ecmp

 

NOTE:

 

overlay-ecmp statement cause PFE to restart which causes traffic impact.
