This article describes if a chassis is replaced and had installed license or an Emergency or Trial license on it then how to retrieve it on new chassis.
After the chassis replacement once the configuration is added to the box, the next step is to enable the license the same as the original chassis which reported the problem.
Check the output of "show system license", initially it will only show the default licenses i.e.
root@Lab-firewall> show system license
License usage:
Licenses Licenses Licenses Expiry
Feature name used installed needed
remote-access-ipsec-vpn-client 0 2 0 permanent
remote-access-juniper-std 0 2 0 permanent
Licenses installed: none
If using the Trial or emergency license initially, there is no way to transfer those licenses to RMA'd chassis.
Please follow below KB article below for self-transfer of license on the RMA'd chassis:

In case of Trial or emergency license use case, there is no way to transfer on the new chassis.
Another trial/emergency license shall be installed against new chassis serial number.
