Description

SRX is showing 100% RE CPU utilization due to named process.

Symptoms

SRX is showing 100% RE CPU utilization due to named. Customer has DNS proxy configured, but he mentioned he has other SRXs handling more DNS queries, and those do not report high CPU.

Solution

Restart named process with this command:

 

restart named-service

 

RE CPU utilization was stable afterwards, there was no need to remove proxy DNS configuration.
