Description

 When connecting a 40GB DAC on a qfx5120-48t-6c the port remains down for most port slots.

 

Symptoms

Port is detected under "show chassis hardware" and interfaces may programmed correctly. But it remains physically down on most port slots.

Solution

As per documentation, only ports 50 and 51 support 40 Gbps speed. For further details, please visit:
