Description

MX devices licensing moved to Agile licensing. Alarms and nags to be raised only if any flex-only linecard is installed on the device.

Even if customer has pre-flex license(including device bundled license) too, alarms and logs to be raised.

This KB describes why logs are generated and about JTAC's technical support.

 

Symptoms

Following logs are seen even license file is installed.

Mar 19 16:58:39 MX480 rpd[27445]: Feature "L3VPN Instance Capacity" (261) disabled due to lack of valid license
Mar 19 16:58:39 MX480 rpd[27445]: Feature "SRV6 Feature License" (288) disabled due to lack of valid license
Mar 19 16:58:39 MX480 rpd[27445]: Feature "MVPN Instance Capacity" (322) disabled due to lack of valid license
Mar 19 16:58:39 MX480 rpd[27445]: Feature "EVPN-VXLAN" (262) disabled due to lack of valid license

Solution

Even though you see those license logs, the features that were previously used with the old license can continue to be used without any impact. 

And customers can also receive technical support from JTAC.
