This article introduces the way to do a USB format install on EX4100-F.
You may want to do a format install to recover the EX4100-F if it is corrupt or having any other issues.
1.From the Juniper Downloads page, select the appropriate OS (Junos or Junos SR, and navigate to the section "Install Media as shown below and select the USB Install:
2.Transfer the image to a bootable USB. You can make a USB drive bootable by using the dd command in shell, or use GUI-based USB flash drive utilities such as Rufus or ISO Burner for Windows.

Note: " img.gz " files may need to be extracted to " img ."

3. Insert USB into the EX4100-F device.4. Reboot the device with ">request system reboot" or power cord unplug/plug
5. Interrupt the auto boot-up process with "Ctrl+C" key when following console output prompt out.
6. Select "BOOT0001 USB00" with UP/DOWN key and system will boot up from the new Junos image via USB.
