This article describes how to validate if the Juniper Networks EX Series platform supports Power Over Ethernet (POE).
The Juniper Networks EX Series switch has been configured with POE on one or more interfaces through configuration mode, and the same has been committed successfully, but there is no POE power on the devices connected to the network ports.
The output of POE controller command is blank:
user@switch> show poe controller
The output of the POE interface command displays error "error: PoE is not supported on interface <interface-name>" as per illustrated below:
user@switch> show poe interface ge-0/0/6 error: PoE is not supported on interface ge-0/0/6.
You must confirm that the exact model that you have supports POE feature. For example: The EX2300-C-12P does support POE while the EX2300-C-12T does not support POE. This information can be validated in the article below (link available under "Related Information").
