Solution

To clear the alarm, please follow the below steps:

  1. Physically check if the fan is not spinning or it is a false alarm.
  2. Please manually reseat the fan tray as they are hot-removable
  3. Remove FAN Tray [X] and check the slot properly if it is damaged. Pins connected to "Fan Tray [X] Fan [X]" is damaged.(Click pictures if possible)
  4. Check if damage is on Chassis side (Click pictures if possible)
  5. Please swap FAN tray [X] into FAN Tray [X+1]/[X-1] slot and check if the alarm follows the slot or stays in the same slot.If the alarm follows the slot, it is Fan Tray issue and we can proceed with Fan Tray replacement.
  6. If swapping the fan tray with a known good one still does not resolve the issue, then the fault can be with the chassis.
  7. But if issue is with chassis,. you should see similar issue again on "Fan Tray 0 Fan 0" . Then we can go ahead and create RMA for chassis depending on the outcomes.

Please open a case with Juniper Technical support  JTAC Support for further investigation and assistance in opening RMA.
