Description

We have two Ex4650 switches and we tried to make those devices into the VC; however, its failed

Solution

  1. In Ex4650 switches we tried to configured the two member VC
  2. When we configured the switches in VC, after few seconds one of the switch went to not present state.

  1. Checked the port panel document and identified that EX4650 switches do not have dedicated or default-configured VCPs, but you can set any of the 40-Gbps QSFP+ or 100-Gbps QSFP28 uplink ports on the front panel (non-channelized ports 48 through 55) as VCPs. You can’t use any of the other ports (network ports 0 through 47) as VCPs.
  2. Since port number xe-0/0/46 and xe-0/0/47 are used the VC was not forming as expected then we connected two 40G SFPs on port number Et-0/0/48 and Et-0/0/49.
  3. We configured the port 48 and 49 as the vc-ports, post that the VC was forming as expected.
