How to configure PIC to operate 1x400g or 4x100g on PTX10003 router 

PTX10003 supports various port speed options, which results in certain constraints to be applied to operate in 1x400g mode or 4x100g mode. This article explains which ports are allowed for 1x400g or 4x100g mode and which are not.

Some of the interfaces will not come up

Solution

The following config should be applied to operate the PIC/port in 1x400g mode or 4x100g mode.

 

  1. If 1x400 mode required.

 

  1. Port 2 and 7 must be off lined if PIC need to be used in 1x400g mode
  2. Port 0,4,5 and 9 can be configured for 1x400g mode
  3. Port 1,3,6 and 8 can be configured as 1x100g mode.

 

  1. If 4x100g mode is required

 

  1. Port 1,3,6 and 8 must be off lined
  2. Port 0,4,5 and 9 can be configured as 4x100g mode.
  3. Port 2 and 7 will operate in the default mode of 2x100g mode.
