Description

After upgrading a Juniper Networks QFX10002 Series Switches from 17.3R3-S4.2 to 22.4R1-S2.1, some QSFP ports with part number 740-067443 are down.

 

 

Symptoms

  • Replaced the QSFPs
  • Disabled and enabled the ports
  • Verified the optic receiver power to be normal except for port 10 showing no statistics (show interface diagnostics optics )
  • Finally moved the QSFPs and cables to other ports and the links and interface came up

Solution

 

This issue reported was caused due to the QSFP with Part Number 740-067443 is not supported for QFX10002, please refer to https://apps.juniper.net/hct/model/?component=QSFPP-40GBASE-SR4&tab=oView.

Note: you may see the QSFP with Part Number 740-067443 may work on certain ports and may not work on other ports even in a Software Change, but the same is not guaranteed to work since the same is not supported in JTAC.
