After upgrade the QFX5120-48YM two member VC into 23.1 version customer observing below error while configuring the VCCP port
user@switch@request virtual-chassis vc-port set pic-slot 0 port 48
error: PIC slot 0 is not valid for virtual chassis port
As per the QFX5120-48YM data sheet the QFX5120-48YM, only the eight 40-Gigabit Ethernet QSFP+ or 100-Gigabit Ethernet QSFP28 front panel uplink ports (ports 48 through 55) can be configured into VCPs to form a QFX5120-48YM Virtual Chassis. Any ports other than those specified above for QFX5120-48YM switches are not supported as VCPs
However, when we try to configure the VC port as port 48, we are observing below error.
user@switch>request virtual-chassis vc-port set pic-slot 0 port 48
To resolve the error, we need to enable the hgoe mode in the virtual chassis.
user@switch> request virtual-chassis mode hgoe
localre:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mode set to 'Virtual Chassis with hgoe mode enabled'. (Reboot required)
{master:0}
user@switch> request system reboot
Reboot the system ? [yes,no] (no) yes
After the reboot, we tried to configure the VC port and there is no error.
Sample output:
user@switch> request virtual-chassis vc-port set pic-slot 0 port 48
Port conversion initiated, use show virtual-chassis vc-port to verify
user@switch> request virtual-chassis vc-port set pic-slot 0 port 49
