Description

Getting below error while committing the config on Juniper Switch.

Symptoms

# commit check
localre: configuration check succeeds
configuration check succeeds
configuration check succeeds
error: FAIL : grp fail error: unable to release privileges
error: 2 errors reported by translation scripts
error: translation script failure
error: remote commit-configuration failed on fpc3
error: configuration check-out failed {master:0}[edit]

The possible cause for the error could be the Routing Engine has run out of memory due to which commit is failing or if there is a kernel synchronization issue will also cause this problem. By freeing the space or restarting the entire daemon will help us to resolve the issue.
 

Solution

Cleanup the storage

  • request system storage cleanup member <member-id>

Reboot the device
  • request system reboot

Zeroize the member (Isolate the problematic member & perform format installation)
  • request system zeroize

Format install the device
