Description

This article provides information about the PFE error messages seen in the logs for the QFX5K series devices.

Symptoms

QFX5k generates "%PFE-3: fpc0 ERROR: SerDes err_code = ERR_CODE_TXFIR" error logs on link flap

Are these logs impactful? "%PFE-3: fpc0 [auto-chan] pic:0 link:31 No cable"

Solution

These are informational messages generated by BCM and the Pre-Emp settings API have been changed in the recent BCM SDK versions. 

These log messages are informational only and does not impact traffic.

To block the alarm, you can filter the log message from getting tagged in message logs. Refer to the knowledge article:
