Description

The following article describes when to use the reboot option "at now" for Juniper Networks EX2300, EX3400, EX4650  and QFX5k Series Switches. 

Symptoms

  • You have used the command "request system reboot all-member at now" to reboot a Virtual Chassis or virtual Chassis Fabric but not all members were rebooted.
  • You want to understand when the option "at now" is supported.

Solution

The command option "at now", as in the command "request system reboot at now" should only be used for Standalone devices. The command to reboot all members in a Virtual Chassis or Virtual Chassis Fabric is "request system reboot all-members". Using the option "at now" is not supported for Virtual Chassis or Virtual Chassis Fabric.

The CLI will give the following warning when attempting to do this: 
 root@switch> request system reboot at now
     warning: request system reboot at now is recommended only for standalone devices
 Reboot the system at now? [yes,no] (no) no
