On PTX5000/PTX3000 platforms with t6e-pic installed (for example P3-10-U-QSFP28, P3-15-U-QSFP28, and P3-24-U-QSFP28), a port may fail to perform Decision Feedback Equalizer (DFE) tuning after aggressive link flaps on these PICs and the interface may be stuck in down status.
Restarting the corresponding PIC is expected to resolve the issue.
The following messages are seen continuously in the logs until the issue is addressed.
fpc0 prds_if_pg_wanio_check_rx_los: itable 62 empty or not initialized fpc0 t6e_cr_phy_dfe_coarse_tuning_start: Failed to check rx los on et-0/1/1 xcvr_port 1 channel 0 reg_id 62 fpc0 t6e_dfe_tuning_state: Failed t enable dfe tuning over the link 1
Restarting (taking offline/bringing online) the corresponding PIC is expected to resolve the issue.
