Configuring Permanent Route Support Using NSM

Solution

note ScreenOS 5.1 has added a new option called permanent. You can configure a static route to keep the route active even when the interface link state is down or when the interface IP is removed.

To configure permanent route support using NSM, perform the following steps:

alt Connect to NSM. For more information, go to Connecting to the NetScreen-Security Manager [juniper.net] .

alt Expand Device Manager , and then click to select FW/VPN Devices .

alt From the FW/VPN Device Tree tab, right-click the device you want to configure, and then click Edit .

alt Expand Network , and then click to select Virtual Router .

alt From the Virtual Router window, locate the Virtual Router on which you want to enable permanent route support, and then click the Edit button.

alt In the left pane, click to select Routing Table .

alt In the right pane, under Destination-based Routing Table , click the add or edit button.

note Permanent route support can be configured on the Destination-based Routing Table , Source-based Routing Table , or Source-interface-based Routing Table .

alt In the Routing Table window, click to select Keep route active when interface is down to enable permanent route support.
