Installing and Configuring HA on the Secondary NSM Server via the GUI

Symptoms


Solution

To install and configure HA on the Secondary NSM server via the GUI, perform the following steps:

note In this article, the example 172.24.29.90 was used as the IP address for the primary server and 172.24.55.76 was used for the secondary server. Other IP addresses were also used as examples.

alt Connect to the NSM server using SSH.

alt Start the HA server by executing the following command:

 

/usr/netscreen/HaSvr/bin/haSvr.sh start

 

alt Connect to the NetScreen-Security Manager. For more information on this, go to Connecting to the NetScreen-Security Manager [juniper.net] .

note After the HA server is started, you may need to wait for the GUI server and Device server to start.

alt Expand Server Manager , and then click to select Servers .

alt Select Device Server and click Edit .

alt From the Server Type drop-down menu, click to select Device Server Cluster .

alt From the HA tab, in the IP Address of Secondary Server text box, enter the IP address. Click OK .

alt Select GUI Server and click Edit .

alt On the Main tab, from the Server Type drop-down menu, click to select GUI Server Cluster .

alt From the HA tab, in the IP Address of Primary Server text box, enter the IP address. Click OK .

alt Exit the NSM UI.

note The NSM HA installation is configured and ready to use.
