How Do I Configure a Remote Admin User in Juniper Networks NSM?

Symptoms


Solution

To configure a remote admin user in NetScreen-Security Manager (NSM), perform the following steps:

alt Connect to NetScreen-Security Manager. For more information, go to Connecting to the NetScreen-Security Manager [juniper.net] .

alt From the tool bar, click Tools , and then click Manage Administrators and Domains .

alt From the Administrators window, click + .

alt From the New Admin window, in the Name text box, enter a username.

alt From the Authenticated drop-down menu, click Remote .

alt Click the Permissions tab, and then click + .

alt From the Select Role and Domains window, in the Domains list, click to select global .

alt Click OK .

alt Click OK .

alt Click the Current Domain Detail tab, and then click + .

alt From the New Radius Server window, configure a new Radius server using the following settings:
  • Sequence Number : leave as default
  • Host Name : enter the FQDN of the Radius server
  • IP Address : enter the IP address of the Radius server
  • Shared Secret : enter the shared secret.
  • Connection Timeout : leave as default
  • Retry : leave as default
  • UDP Port : leave as default
