Description

This article answers the following question: What information should I collect to assist in troubleshooting prior to opening a support case?

Solution

For troubleshooting a Juniper Apstra case, the Data Collection Checklist - Logs/data to collect for troubleshooting is as follows:

  1. To collect Juniper Apstra Server Controller technical support information:

    1. From the Juniper Apstra web interface, navigate to  Platform > Technical Support.

    2. Click Collect Show Tech.

    3. Download the technical support information file ( AosController.tar.gz ) from Juniper Apstra. More information can be found at Show Tech for On-box Agents and Apstra Server (Web Interface).

Users can also collect Juniper Apstra Server Controller technical support information from the Juniper Apstra Server CLI by using the  aos_show_tech command. More information can be found at Show Tech for AOS Server CLI.

  1. If the issue is related to devices being managed by Juniper Apstra, collect technical support information for the affected devices. For Juniper Apstra on-box agents for Cumulus Linux, Arista EOS, Cisco NX-OS, and SONiC, users can collect technical support information from the Juniper Apstra web interface. Download the technical support information file ( AosController.tar.gz ) from Juniper Apstra.

  2. If the issue is related to the Junos devices being managed by Juniper Apstra, users will need to collect technical support information for the Junos device and the Juniper Apstra off-box agent by using the  aos_offbox_show_tech_collector command from the Juniper Apstra Server CLI. More information can be found at Show Tech for Off-box Agents (CLI).

Upload the technical support information files to the Juniper Networks support case for further troubleshooting.
