Description

Users might notice traffic drops after changing the loopback IP address in QFX5110/QFX5120 platforms due to either a stale IP address entry or a missing IP address entry.

This article describes what must be done to resolve this problem.

 

Symptoms

On QFX5110 and QFX5120 platforms, changing the loopback (lo0) IP address might sometimes result in either a stale IP address entry in the mpls_entry table or missing IP address entry, which results in traffic drop for VXLAN traffic.

Triggers

  • QFX5110 and QFX5120 platforms

  • EVPN VXLAN

  • Changing lo0 IP address

 

Solution

To resolve this problem, perform either of the following:

  • While changing the loopback IP address, perform a commit full .

OR

  • Restart the Packet Forwarding Engine process by using the following: 

request app-engine service restart packet-forwarding-engine
