Description

On Juniper Networks QFX Series Switches, the logs are showing parity errors. 

Symptoms

On QFX platforms you may encounter logs showing parity errors. 

QFX-switch : %PFE-3: fpc0 Mem: 
QFX-switch : %PFE-3: fpc0 0:_soc_trident2_process_ser_fifo: 
QFX-switch : %PFE-3: fpc0 Parity error.. 
QFX-switch : %PFE-3: fpc0 Parity errors generated 

Solution

Parity erros can be corrected on its on, we will see the SER mechanism take action when correcting the parity errors:

QFX-switch : %PFE-3: fpc0 Parity errors generated 
QFX-switch : %PFE-3: fpc0 0:_soc_trident2_print_ser_fifo_details: 
QFX-switch : %PFE-3: fpc0 Error in: SBUS transaction. 
QFX-switch : %PFE-3: fpc0 0:_soc_trident2_print_ser_fifo_details: 
QFX-switch : %PFE-3: fpc0 Blk: 1, Pipe: 0, Address: 0x102036f9, base: 0x8, stage: 4, index: 14073 
QFX-switch : %PFE-3: fpc0 0:soc_ser_correction: 
QFX-switch : %PFE-3: fpc0 SER_CORRECTION: reg/mem:15771 btype:17 sblk:1 at:3 stage:4 addr:0x10200000 port: 0 index: 14073


However, if the parity errors are not corrected on its own we should reboot the device using the command, "request system reboot" to recover the parity error. 

In case this issue persists, please open a case with JTAC.
