Description

After configuring hugepages, the following error is seen when issuing any show vmhost or show system command:

JDM error: Error executing the command in JDM 192.168.1.254

Symptoms

  • Running nfx-3 software
  • System hugepages were configured, committed, and power cycled
  • Observing error message in JDM when issuing show vmhost command

Example:

root@NFX350> show virtual-network-functions
error: Error executing the command in JDM 192.168.1.254

root@NFX350> show vmhost memory
error: Error executing the command in JDM 192.168.1.254

root@NFX350> show vmhost memory
error: Error executing the command in JDM 192.168.1.254

root@NFX350> show vmhost processes
error: Error executing the command in JDM 192.168.1.254

root@NFX350> show system visibility cpu
error: Error executing the command in JDM 192.168.1.254

Solution

If the number amount of 1 GB hugepages on the system exceeds the supported number of hugepages per platform, then after power cycle or reboot, you may have issues running any command that needs to communicate back to JDM.  The message:

error: Error executing the command in JDM 192.168.1.254

will occur if there is not sufficient memory available.
