Solution

In MX960, there is a FPM board that has separate offline/online buttons for each FPC slot. For details, refer to the documentation on MX960 Craft Interface Overview.

  1. First, check if the affected FPC was also rebooted when the above event occurred. Check if the "Offlined by button press" reoccurs by itself without any intervention. Monitor for 24-48 hours to see if it's a transient issue.

  2. If the issue reoccurs, it is recommended to replace the FPM panel (also known as craft-interface) and recheck FPC and FPM status. This step usually addresses the faulty connection, which triggers the button press event to reboot FPC.

Monitor after FRU replacement. Without replacing the FPM, such intermittent FPC reboot may reoccur.

  3. After FRU replacement, monitor FPM and FPC health for 24-48 hours. If step 2 still does not resolve, please contact JTAC for further assistance.
