Description

This article describes an issue wherein the EX3400 Series device's port LED continues to be on even after completely halting the device, and indicates that the solution is to upgrade to Junos OS 18.1R3-S8 release.

Note: The reproduction rate of the issue is 30% of the time.

 

Symptoms

After executing the request system halt at now command on EX3400 devices, the port LED continues to remain on.

 

Initial State

The link is connected to other EX3400 switches and these ports are up.

  1. Step-2. Check the Link LED. With the above condition, the uplink LED is always on.

Note: The peer device can, however, detect the link down normally.

 

Solution

This problem is fixed in Junos OS release 18.1R3-S8.
