A Junos Fusion Aggregate Device MX router may suddenly lose connection to a Satellite Device EX switch and cause Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) traps FRu to go offline and online due to restarting the Extended Mode (em) service.
This article indicates that there is no service impact to the SNMP traps FRu going offline and coming online and so no action would be required.
In a Junos Fusion setup, an Aggregate Device (MX_AD) can lose connection to a Satellite Device and cause SNMP traps FRu to go offline and online due to restarting the Extended Mode (em) service.

It is common to see FRu offline/online traps if devices lose connection. The SNMP traps FRu offline/online does not mean any actual FRu restart. From the above log, you can see that the em service is restarted when traps are raised. Restarting the em service causes SNMP traps FRu to go offline/online.
The EM service is "Extended Mode" service, which supports multiple uplinks, and the ability to manage SD by using 802.1BR.
Restarting the em service causes SNMP traps FRu to go offline/online, but in this scenario, the em restart reason is not identified. The connection comes online quickly, but the SNMP traps FRu going offline/online does not indicate an actual FRu restart.
No action is required because this symptom does not have any service impact. There is no actual restart of the FRu.
