This article explains why attempts to add an EX or a QFX device to Sky Enterprise may fail with a configlet error.
An EX or a QFX device is added to Sky Enterprise.
Attempts to add a configlet to the EX or QFX device fails with the following error:
master:0}[edit] root@d14-39# ...cret 0kKjqX9G2sV4TncWtDeZM1dzRbHF8guxo36vLASyNpI5PwEaJmBYOr... ^ syntax error, expecting <data>.
The device is running Junos Flex version of the software.
Adding an EX or a QFX device that is running Junos Flex software is not supported. Sky Enterprise is supported with non-flex software. When you download software on the Juniper software download page, do not choose the "Enhanced Automation" download option.
To determine if you have Junos flex, issue the show version command, and the output will indicate whether you do have flex.
show version
Example
{master:0} root@root@d14-43> show version localre: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hostname: d14-43 Model: ex4650-48y-8c Junos: 18.4R2-S2.4 flex
The above device is running Junos 18.4R2-S2.4 flex version, and it will not accept the outbound-ssh user secret configuration. You will have to choose any non-flex Junos OS version for the outbound-ssh user secret to be accepted.
