Description

At times when a device which has already been deleted from JUNOS Space Platform somehow is still seen on CPP. The device is not seen in Platform menu.

The side effect of this issue is that if there is a service still attached to this deleted device, then this service cannot get decommissioned. This is because the service has the device associated with it.

When attempting to delete this device from CPP menu, there is an error message saying that it has a service attached to it.

Solution

To resolve this issue, the following actions need to be taken on the GUI

  1. Go to Platform -> Application-CPP -> Modify Setting
    Uncheck the option, Deploy configuration to device

  2. Now try to decommission the Services and you should be able to do it.

  3. After service is decommissioned, you should be able to delete the device from Manage Device Roles Page in CPP .

  4. Once the device has been deleted from CPP, check the option, Deploy configuration to device to proceed further.
