Administrators may, at times, need to determine how many Services Processing Units (SPUs) are present in a high-end SRX device for provisioning purposes, and also to check whether the SPUs match when two SRX devices are being matched in a cluster.
To list all the SPUs in a high-end SRX device and their status, issue the show chassis fpc pic status command:
show chassis fpc pic status
root@SRX5800> show chassis fpc pic-status node0: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Slot 0 Online SRX5k SPC II PIC 0 Online SPU Cp PIC 1 Online SPU Flow PIC 2 Online SPU Flow PIC 3 Online SPU Flow Slot 1 Online SRX5k IOC II PIC 0 Online 10x 10GE SFP+ node1: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Slot 0 Online SRX5k SPC II PIC 0 Online SPU Cp PIC 1 Online SPU Flow PIC 2 Online SPU Flow PIC 3 Online SPU Flow Slot 1 Online SRX5k IOC II PIC 0 Online 10x 10GE SFP+
Observe in the above output that each SRX device has three data SPUs and one Central Point SPU. This SPU data along with the throughput numbers can help an administrator determine the appropriate traffic levels at which the SRX device can be placed in the network. Note also that all the SPUs are online.
