Description

This article provides a workaround for recovering the root password on NFX150 and MX150 Series devices.

Symptoms

Unable to log in to device by using the last known password

Solution

For NFX150 and MX150 Series devices, password recovery is available starting in Junos OS Release 18.3R1 and later.

If the device is running Junos OS Release 18.3R1 or later, refer to the steps that are documented in Recovering the Root Password for NFX150.

If the device is running a prior Junos OS version, the only option is to perform a USB installation by using the steps detailed in [NFX] Performing a USB upgrade on NFX150.
