Description

This article details the process to mount a USB drive on an NFX device so that it can be used as a storage device to transfer image files when network access is not available.

Solution

This procedure is performed from Hypervisor on the NFX device:

  1. root@jdm : ~#​ ssh hypervisor.

root@localhost:~#

  1. ​​Create a mount directory.

root@localhost:~# mkdir /var/usb 
  1. Mount /dev/sdb /var/usb .

root@localhost:# mount /dev/sdb /var/usb 
  1. After it is mounted, change directory: 

​cd /var/usb   
  1. Show the contents of the directory:

    root@nfx250-host:/var/usb# ls -l
    ​total 96
    ​drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 32768 Jan 30  2017 System Volume Information
    ​drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 32768 Jul 26 20:14 test.img
    ​drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 32768 Jul 26 20:13 text.tgz
    
  1. Show the partitions:

root@localhost:/var/usb# ​ lsblk  
​NAME   	    MAJ:MIN	RM	SIZE	 RO	TYPE	MOUNTPOINT

sda         8:0       	0     	93.2G    0       disk
|-sda1      8:1       	0   	189.8M   0       part    /boot/efi

  1. Then copy the desired file from the USB drive to the appropriate directory on the NFX device:

root@nfx250-host:/var/tmp/usb# cp /var/third-party/​test.img ./
