Description

This article provides the steps to upgrade from 15.1X53-D40 to 15.1X53-D470.

Symptoms

  • Upgrades from 15.1X53-D40/D42 to 15.1X53-D470 causes some instabilities.

  • After upgrading from 15.1X53-D470 to 15.1X53-D470, there were no 2M hugepages available for IPSec-NM to boot.

Solution

Upgrading from 15.1X53-D40/D42 to 15.1X53-D470 directly is not supported.

In order to upgrade from 15.1X53-D40 or 15.1X53-D42 to versions higher than 15.1X53-D45, you must first upgrade to 15.1X53-D45.  Once have 15.1X53-D45, then you can do one of the following:

  1. Request system zeroize, then upgrade to the desired code.

  2. Upgrade to the desired code using the clean-install option.

Example:

request system software add jinstall-nfx-2-flex-15.1X53-D470.5.secure-domestic-signed.tgz clean-install
