Symptoms

Syslog messages are generated on the box with no analytics configuration.

Solution

The analytics daemon is constantly gathering interface statistics. This message is informational only. Both analyticsd (AD) and AM (analytics manager) work as a team to obtain real-time data from the PFE and export it to remote collectors. The two analytics engines, AD and AM, work together and use standard Unix Interprocess Communication (IPC) to pass information back and forth.

The analytics daemon provides detailed data and reporting on the networks behavior and performance. This deals with logging of analytics information even though the analytics is not used on the switch. This message is not an indication of any failures on switch. This is a harmless message displayed in the syslog even when there is no configuration for the analytics daemon.

root@jtac-qfx5110-32q-r2007> show analytics configuration >> there will be no output, since there is no analytic configuration on the chassis

The above log messages are informational and not critical. They are not in any connection with interface instabilities.

These logs are cosmetic with no function and they do not cause any user-impact in device performance or production. The messages can also be filtered.
