In order to use certain software features of an MX product, a purchased license is required. Further all these license features must be supported by the official Juniper Networks license document that you should have received. This license document contains the keys and/or instructions for you to activate the feature.
This article explains what you should do if you have misplaced or lost the license document.
I purchased a license for my MX product. However, I cannot find the license keys or the license document. Can I request for it to be resent?
How do I retrieve software license key for my MX Series?
If you cannot find the copy of your license, reach out to your local partner and request for it to be resent. Alternatively, you can contact Customer Care for assistance. Be sure to have the following information:
Juniper sales order or the distributor's PO number
Serial number of the MX hardware
There are some licenses where Juniper provides a fulfilment document that serves as proof that a license has been purchased and there is no need for activation. In other words, you can simply configure the licensed feature.
Example of this is the below:
There is another type of license for which you will receive a fulfilment email, which will contain an activation code, that you can use to activate the license and get the license key. This license will need to be activated through the Juniper Agile Licensing Portal. The license document will also include the SSRN and the quantity that was purchased.
To get a list of licenses that you can purchase for each MX Series software feature, check the Juniper Licensing User Guide.
To purchase additional software licenses, contact your Juniper Networks sales representative at Contact Us.
Note: Your Juniper software license fulfilment document is your proof of purchase. For enforced features on MX Series, it will also display the unlocking key or the activation code that can be used to create the unlocking key. Please maintain a copy of this important document for your reference.
