Description

This article explains the cause of the following syslog message: 

l2ald[8349]: %DAEMON-3: l2ald_vgd_msg_bd_enqueue: no connection between L2ALD and VGD

This message has no operational impact and can be safely ignored.

Symptoms

When trying to delete an IRB, the following log message appears on EX9200 and QFX5100.  

 l2ald[2094]: l2ald_vgd_msg_bd_enqueue: no connection between L2ALD and VGD

Solution

This syslog message may appear when an IRB interface is committed or when an IRB IFL is deleted.​

 

This log message does not affect operations. It can be safely ignored, since it is a notification/trigger.

This message has no connection to VGD, which is related to the VXLAN daemon. If you do not use VXLAN, it is expected behavior.
